A time of change for ERMS
A Newsletter has been sent to all members to explain the closure of the Shenfield meetings venue after the end of this year. We have been meeting at Shenfield for eight years, following our move from Hornchurch. At that time we also started meeting at Stanway. However, the Shenfield attendance has been low and, more importantly, we are still unable to find a meetings organiser there.
Ian and Ros Mercer are also standing down from the committee at this November’s AGM, after fourteen years as Chairman and Secretary. A new Chairman and Secretary will be elected and the Society will continue to flourish with regular meetings at Stanway, field visits and, of course, The Show on Saturday 20th February.
Also, from January onwards, the Stanway meetings will take place on the third Wednesday of each month (previously Thursdays). See What’s On for details.

Festival of Essex Archaeology & Heritage at Cressing Temple, August 23rd. A very busy and successful day, with lots of brilliant help from ERMS members. There were 1,400 visitors to the event!
